HEY!! Look Over here!!

If you are on robashcom.com because my #1 fan Steven E.  sent you, I have to admit that the book is available, but the CD is being "pressed" even as we all re-hydrate and wind ourselves up for the new year.  Read:  not available.  But please go ahead and listen to the songs here.  If you still want DDCAM, CDs and digital downloads should be available by the end of January.

Attention: Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert

Another muddled conversation in the VP's office 10' away from my cubicle:
"...Parakeet diarrhea..." "Okay, so I'm looking for sex at the beach.  And I'm looking for another Albino..."
Too much noise for me to hear clearly.  But I don't need to. Engineers talking about search.

Boring Blog Posts

So my wife thinks my posts are boring.
"I know," I say.  "They're just about me making this book and album."
"But they're boring," she says.
"Fuck," I say (or maybe I was just thinking it).  "I'm not PrivateSecret Diary - and that's not a fucking blog anyway - it's a collection of very short, very funny stories."
"Just write about something interesting," she says.
And I remember an actual breathing human being in 1998 who asked me to put the color red into his website, and when I asked what shade he was thinking of, he says, "You choose.  Just pick a good red."
To which I replied, "Fuck." Or maybe I was just thinking it.

mini-launch of robashcom.com

So I re-named my test file to index.php.  If you don't know what the heck that means (good for you, first of all...), "index" is the file a browser looks for first when going to a website.  So, while "testindex.php" was safe from anyone who didn't actually know the exact spelling, "index.php" is out in the open for the hoardes of people online constantly looking for new information on Rob Ashcom.  All you have to do is...http://robashcom.com

And thus it begins...

Final Stretch

Tired shoulders, aching neck, inflamed carpals....  But things are shaping up.  Still need a design for print-on-the-cd.  Finalize the back cover of the CD and the book.  Then decide who will manufacture/ship the CDs - CreateSpace or CDBaby?  The 8-ball says....

The Deadline Approaches

How many posts have started with "the deadline's looming...I should be doing my work..."?

Well actually, I AM working on the media release....  But of course not at the moment since I'm at work-work...

The novel appears to be typeset at last, though I may have lost some spots of italicized internal dialogue (or "muttering").  Meaning I lost the italics through the magic of Adobe Indesign may it rot in hell -- not that I lost the muttering bits.  My artistic skin has thickened to the degree that I don't give a rat's ass for the small details.  The cover's pretty; fuck the rest....  I wonder if I can say that on Blogger?  We'll find out soon enough when I stop blathering.

Mixes still going, though the last mile is once again threatening to break my mind/body/spirit. I will post a page for friends to vote on the order of the songs  appearing on the cd as well as their most/least favorites.  I need some objectivity, people!

Coding the website now.  Fuck off!!
